You didn't even mention the best part of the Symposium, when Aristophanes the comic playwright, after first recovering from a bout of hiccups, offers a hilarious explanation of the origin and meaning of erotic love. It's literally laugh-out-loud, belly-laugh funny (as when he cites the prevalence of homosexuality among Athenian politicians as corroborating evidence of his theory).
