The passage I quoted was from this country’s founding document. Those are Jefferson’s words, not mine. Read it all: “Prudence, indeed, will dictate that governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes.”

Amending the Constitution is itself a constitutional procedure. Senators were once chosen by the state legislatures [1.3.1]. The 17th Amendment changed that to direct popular election. Why shouldn’t we do the same to the Electoral College?

It’s not me who’s calling for abolishing the Constitution; that’s Trump’s line, not mine.
