Speaking as an American, I think NATO should suspend the US’s membership (and with it the veto over new member admissions, which must be approved unanimously) and admit Ukraine immediately. If I were Justin Trudeau, I would introduce that motion at the NATO Council.

I frankly don’t see why anyone would trust the word of the United States on anything, ever again. Bush Senior betrayed the Iraqi Shi’a in 1991, Junior lied his way back into Iraq, Obama reneged on his “red line” in Syria, Trump sold out the Syrian Kurds, Biden abandoned our allies and collaborators in Afghanistan. We have squandered our most precious asset, our moral leadership.
