These people’s days are over. They have been marginalized (for the moment, at least) by the new National Unity government.
Significant decisions are now being made by an inner cabinet that excludes Itamar Ben-Gvir and Betzalel Smotrich in favor of Netanyahu’s rival in the last election, Benny Gantz, and Yoav Gallant, a (relative) moderate whom Ben-Gvir tried to get fired for opposing his abortive judicial reform plan. Any legislation not related to the Hamas crisis (such as the aforementioned judicial reform) cannot be introduced without Gantz’s approval.
When the crisis is over, a new government will be formed, either through realignment in the Knesset or (yet another) election. Netanyahu’s pre-crisis coalition is toast.
