The factual finding underlying the Colorado decision, that Trump engaged in or “aided and abetted” insurrection, was provided by the Congressional January 6 committee. No further finding of fact is needed.
As for fueling the insurrectionists’ fire because “who knows what they’ll do?,” the same reasoning would apply to the leaders of the Confederacy. Jefferson Davis and Robert E. Lee had already levied war against the United States; who knew what else their followers might have done if they were excluded from the ballot? That didn’t stop the Reconstruction congress from enacting [XIV.3], and it shouldn’t stop us from enforcing it now.
