Not disagreeing with the point of your article, but in this case you’re mistaken. It is specifically Cisalpine Gaul, meaning “the part of Gaul on the near side of the Alps” from the Roman point of view, as distinct from Transalpine Gaul (“across, on the other side of the Alps”).
