No, it doesn’t. It means “separateness.” The -heid at the end of the word just means “-ness” in Dutch, cognate to the English ending -hood. Apartheid is “apart-hood,” the separation of one population segment from another. That doesn’t make it right or justified or defensible, but the word itself doesn’t mean “hate.”
