It’s fruitless to quibble over semantic definitions, but the underlying concepts matter. One definition of faith is, indeed, belief without evidence. That is not the same thing as trust (in reason, empirical evidence, scientific method, etc.). Trusting that the sun will rise tomorrow is not the same as believing on faith that it’s a golden chariot drawn by fiery horses.
