Here are some things that should happen:

• Canada should introduce a motion at the NATO Council to suspend the US’s membership.

• Every NATO member nation should recall its ambassador to Washington.

• US assets held in European banks should be frozen and redirected to military assistance for Ukraine.

• Canada should close its border with the US, denying entry to US citizens.

• Canada should cut off the power grid to the northeast US.

• Canada should close its oil and gas pipelines to the US.

• Canada should expel US military personnel from NORAD bases in the Arctic Circle. Ditto the Germans and Ramstein Air Base.

• The Blue Jays and Raptors should be withdrawn from Major League Baseball and the National Basketball Association. US-based teams seeking entry for scheduled games should be turned back at the border.

• The Canadiens, Maple Leafs, Senators, Jets, Flames, Oilers, and Canucks should withdraw from the National Hockey League and form a separate league of their own.

• FIFA should cancel the US as joint host of the 2026 World Cup and award it to Canada and Mexico alone.

All this will affect me personally, but Americans have got to see (and feel) the consequences of handing unrestricted power to a known madman.
