Getting elected to the most powerful office in the world was the worst possible thing that could happen to someone with Trump’s psychological makeup. Not only did it turn his delusions of grandeur into reality, it gave him unlimited power to act them out without effective restraint. The failure to restrain him constitutionally only made it worse. And if he does get elected to a second term, all bets are off.
