For openers, STOP CALLING THEM THE GOP. They haven’t even got the good grace to refer to their opponents by the correct name, the Democratic (not “Democrat”) Party; why should we continue to use their own chosen warm-and-cuddly nickname for themselves? They are not a Grand Old Party; we should stop calling them one.
